Arabic Lump presented in a beautiful cork-stopped bottle,
Resin is incense in its purest and most natural form. The resins are collected from the sap, roots, bark or wood of trees, shrubs and plants.
Unlike traditional incense sticks, the resin does not burn by itself. It requires charcoal tablets to heat it and a traditional burner to burn it safely.
Arabic Lump Resin is produced by small, thorny acacia trees (Acacia nilotica, Acacia Senegal, Acacia Seyal). Most of them can be found in North Africa, especially in Sudan, where currently about 60-70% of world production comes from.
Under natural conditions, during a drought period, the bark of trees cracks, releasing sap which dries up to form hard, glassy tears. Its smell is very mild, so it is often used as a base resin for mixtures with herbs. This way you can soften the sharp incense.
